Chengyu Translation Techniques in Web Novel Di Yi Qi Shao

The translation is a process of transferring meaning from the source language to target language. itself requires appropriate techniques in order produce an acceptable Likewise, idiom or chengyu has its own techniques. This study aims analyze technique Chinese web novel “Di Yi Qi Shao” which been translated Indonesian version called “Menantu Palsu” using theory introduced by Nida and Taber are idioms non-idioms; idioms; non-idioms idioms. research qualitative descriptive analysis content as data technique. uses method reference. this consists 196 contained chapter 1 until 25 novel.The results showed that 155 (79.08%) were six (3.06%) Apart those two techniques, 35 (17.86%) not translated. also show translation, there similar chengyu, each being same technique, but on several occurrences: some In addition, occurernces, resulted different translations.
